I don’t know if there’s something in that Northern California Pacific ocean water or what, but San Francisco/Oakland is churning out the bands worth paying attention to like nobody’s business. While Air Surgeon has been a band for a few years now, the release of new single “Wardrobe” and upcoming EP on Death Records is an all-time high for the trio, with no changes necessary. I’d go as far as saying the new track has stripped down traces of The Cure, Brand New and The Pixies, complete with an effortless summer glow. It’s a mellow song that manages to sneak up on you in the same style as that third poolside margarita.

Like every song worth its weight, “Wardrobe” is dynamic yet subtle enough that you hear something different every time you listen to it. That’s an art folks, and you’re going to be mesmerized. Air Surgeon is a band that’s not trying too hard and still knocking it out of the park, which is why we love ‘em so damn much. Their new album released just this April is not to be missed! Catch them at Deathstock 2015 June 26th-28th in Guerneville, CA.
