West Coast trio PinkSlime will always hold a special place in Lo-Pie’s collective heart, having been the very first band to play our very first show in August of 2012. We’ve been dying to hear some of their messy PNW surf punk ever since they tore up The Blue Star during a very last-minute set on that late summer’s night, so many thanks to LA-based label Under the Gun Records putting up “Bone To Pick”, off PinkSlime’s upcoming full-length for the label (formerly available as a tour-only tape.)

“Bone To Pick” is a cool little summer jam that’s kind of like receiving a postcard from sunnier climes on Christmas Day. Yes, that growling riff and buried vocals make the tune come off as a bit of an Oh Sees rip but as the great man so correctly observed: talent borrows, genius steals. My only complaint? The stream plays too fucking soft and I was really hoping to annoy my neighbors this Saturday night.
